Since the drones are becoming popular, several manufacturers implemented foldable motor arms in an attempt to excite the customer base. Introducing the Visuo XS809S drone, the most compact and portable quadcopter. Along with popular foldable drones such as the Rocket 360 and Mavic Air, the Visuo XS809S makes into the list as one of beginner’s favorite drone. In our Visuo XS809S review, I will talk about its design, performance, features, and other tidbits that it comes with. Without further ado, let’s get started!
Design & Build Quality
The Visuo XS809S features a compact design that makes it very easy to carry with you anywhere you go. It has a body dimension of 17.32 / 17.32 x 2.56 inches when unfolded. When it’s folded, it’s around the size of a smartphone that you can conspicuously stuff in your pants pocket. The black coating all around its hull body frame and stylish design give it an intimidating presence.
The front comes with a built-in red LED light encased with teeth design as it looks like a battle shark. Underneath its main body frame is a powerful 720p HD camera that lets you capture and record footage with ease. Visual-wise, the Visuo XS809S comes with four green LED lights that provide visual positioning assistance. Not only that you can see where it is flying, but your flight mission also doesn’t have to end when it gets dark outside.
Finally, the Visuo XS809S uses a modularized battery. As you might be wondering what the heck is a modularized battery? It’s an upgraded version of the battery that still uses the Li-Po element but it’s modified to deliver the power more efficiently and reduces the hazards such as overcharge and discharge protection. A single battery on average gives you a flight time of 18 minutes. Quite an impressive feat for a compact and portable drone like this.

Performance
Knowing how well a drone performs is only half the battle before you make the shopping decision. Everyone wants to be able to fly a drone that works well and doesn’t breaks apart within the same week, right? Fortunately enough for the Visuo XS809S drone, this durable quadcopter is built to last for a long service time thanks to special material that the manufacturer used to enhance its quality.
From point of view, this foldable drone certainly does look like a DJI Mavic Pro clone. If you’ve been wanting to have a drone that looks like a Mavic Pro, then you might be interested in buying this foldable quadcopter. Here’s why you should: the Visuo XS809S features beginner-friendly functions such as altitude hold function, automatic takeoff, and landing, return to home, and headless mode.
Before I go ahead and start talking more about these features. I want to briefly explain what headless mode is so that you understand how it is supposed to work. The headless mode is a feature that lets you switch the control orientation from the drone to your remote controller. This means you can fly the drone based on the direction you’re pushing the movement lever at. This is especially useful for beginners who want to learn how to fly a drone without having to worry about the direction it is facing.
Along with these features, the Visuo XS809S can perform 360-degree flip to impress bystanders and awe your audience. A single battery gives you a flight time on average of 18 minutes (literally the longest flight time you will get out of these price categories). And finally, it has a maximum control distance of 100 meters which gives you plenty of flying space to soar the drone around. Not bad for a decent drone, eh?

Remote Controller
First of all, I just can’t stop thinking of Visuo XS809S remote controller looking like an Xbox 360 controller. If you have experience with a gaming console, then the remote controller should come naturally to you. The Visuo XS809S comes with two levers, one for movement and another one for altitude and rotation.
The features are located on the lower right corner that can be performed with a push of a button. Just simply press one of this button and the drone will automatically perform them. Not only just that, but they also help make the whole flight operation easy and smooth. Pretty cool for beginners, right? Just a bit above the features button is the power on button.
On the left side, there’s a gamer pad that is used for trimming the flight control. If you find the drone is having a hard time staying stable. You need to apply trims until it adjusts its gyroscope stabilization. Furthermore, there is a speed mode located on the shoulders. The Visuo XS809S drone has three-speed tiers. On default, it’ll be on the lowest setting so that beginners can get used to the controls first.
Once beginners masters the flight controls, they can increase speed mode to challenge themselves. It’s a good opportunity to practice and develop piloting skills before you buy an expensive drone. Additionally, the remote controller comes with a foldable mount holder that you can insert your smartphone on it. This feature lets you see a video in real-time while piloting the drone with your transmitter.

However, some weren’t happy with the item, saying that it’s cheaply made and wasn’t so durable.
Final Thoughts
Before I wrap up my Visuo XS809S review, I want to share my final remarks. Overall, I think the Visuo XS809S is a decent and well-built drone designed for beginners. The battery capacity that this drone comes with is quite impressive. I even might be inclined to say that this drone does beat DJI Tello in terms of flight time.
But to get to the point, this drone comes with a lot of features. It is durable, tough, and packed with a beginner-friendly instruction manual. There are plenty of camera options to choose from. If you prefer to upgrade to 720p HD with a wide-angle lens, you could do that if you wanted to. Or if you want to extend your flight time up to a full hour, two additional batteries are all you need.
Because the Visuo XS809S is quite a popular foldable drone among beginners due to its superior flight time and durability. Through my research and sifting the reviews, I recommend this drone to anyone who is looking for a training quadcopter to start with. Happy shopping and fly safe!
Good afternoon,

Just because my kid doesn´t have a mobile phone.
Thanks and best regards,

Hello Ricardo,
The Visuo XS809S has a micro SD card slot available, so you will need to buy one separately. I recommend getting 32GB Class-10 Speed micro SD card for this drone and future drones if you are planning to buy. Hope this helps you out!
