• Don’t fly your drone overcrowded areas or in prohibited zones.
• Don’t fly your drone higher than 50 meters above the ground level.
• Keep your drone at least 5 miles away from airport/heliports/aerodromes or in areas where aircraft are operating.
• Stay away at least 50 meters of people, moving vehicles, or buildings that are not included in the flight mission.
• Fly during the daylight hours.
• Fly when the weather visibility condition is good.
• Don’t disturb or chase wildlife animals with your drone, this will break the cycle. Observe from the great length of distance.
• Obtain permission from the landowner before landing/takeoff on their property.
• Don’t deliver, drop, release any object with your drone.
• Always keep a clear visual line of sight on your drone at all the time.

Getting Drone Permit for Namibia

Unlike other countries, all the drones have to be registered with the NCAA and they cost fee. You are required to have a letter of authorization issued by the NCAA before bringing your drone into the country. The following fees for both recreational drones and commercial drones are:

• $80 fee for recreational drone (per drone)
• $360 fee for commercial drone (per drone)

As expensive as it is to register your drone with NCAA to fly in the country legally. If you are on a tight budget and simply can’t afford to do so.
