This week we are doing a battery review for DJI Mavic Pro drone. Some of you might be wondering whether it is worth buying an extra fresh Mavic Pro battery to extend your flight session or not. In this guide, I am going to talk about the DJI Mavic Pro intelligent battery and what makes it better than the worn-out batteries that you are using.
According to the drone manufacturer recommendations, it is highly recommended that you use the battery up to between 300 to 500 flight cycles. A single flight cycle is one charge. The more you use the same battery, the weaker its cell gets and that means less flight time. Not to mention that they also will become prone to fire hazards. So it is important to keep in mind that sometimes a fresh battery is better than a worn-out battery.
Just a few days ago, I received a brand new DJI Mavic Pro battery straight fresh out of the factory. I decided to do some flight tests to see how good it is compared to my other three half-worn out batteries. Without further ado, let’s dive into the details.
Longer Flight Time
The first and most obvious is longer flight time. I could tell the difference between my half-worn out battery and a fresh pack of intelligent flight battery. My old DJI Mavic Pro batteries on average have a flight time of 21 minutes. While the new battery gave me an increase of 2 minutes, which means I was able to fly for up to 23 minutes. For a small price to pay, two minutes is quite a big difference. Especially when you are an aerial photographer and want to capture special moments.
Reliable
As it is straight out of the factory, a new battery is much more reliable compared to the old batteries that I am using for my DJI Mavic Pro. I can depend on the fresh pack of battery to provide me long flight time as well as not having any issues with it. I also didn’t have any issues with the new battery such as discharge and self-storage. You can rest assured knowing that a new DJI Mavic Pro battery will provide you peace of mind while you pilot your drone around.
Extend Your Flight Session
A brand new Mavic Pro intelligent battery isn’t only good for longer flight time. If your old batteries are still running and have some juice left inside. You can add these along with the fresh pack to prolong your flight sessions. I find it to be a quite useful addition for drone business when it comes to doing projects that take more than two hours. An extra battery provides you more time to work with your drone projects without having to go back and recharge it.
In comparison, a brand new DJI Mavic Pro battery lasts around 9% longer than old ones. This is a two minutes difference, thus I do think it makes a big difference since time is a valuable resource that you definitely will need it. In conclusion of Mavic Pro battery review, buying an extra or two batteries is a must-have.
