Autel Robotics Plans to Launch EVO 2 Drone, Speeding Up DJI Mavic 3

Autel Robotics recently unveiled a brand new EVO 2 drone, which is slated for release on January 2020. The introduction of Autel EVO 2 drone is one of the monster-size flying machine featuring an impressive 8K video camera with a flight time of 35 minutes that will be available for both recreational and professional remote pilots.

For several years DJI has been the leading drone industry in the consumer market and has a deep pocket line. DJI Phantom 3 first became popular that was what led the company to stardom as it opened up new doors for them. However, the quality of drones has stagnant for some time. Especially with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro / Mavic 2 Zoom not bringing any significant upgrades to the video camera, flight time and remote control distance.

The new Autel EVO 2 drone is designed to be a killer drone with impressive upgrades. For instance, it has a maximum remote control distance up to 16 miles which is three times bigger than what DJI Mavic 2 Pro / Mavic 2 Zoom has. Furthermore, it has a long flight time up to 35 minutes and its gimbal camera can be switched along to suit your video needs.

Autel Robotics EVO 2 Drone

This caused an alarm in the DJI consumer division when they learned that Autel EVO 2 boasts an impressive array of features. Many DJI managers and specialists weren’t too happy about that. Could it be the time that they need to step up their quality in the game to satisfy the remote pilots?

Either way, the Autel EVO 2 drone is rolling out on January 2020 and it has a lot of us smiling right now. Rumors are circulating that DJI Mavic 3 is also coming out later in 2020. Possibly that DJI is accelerating now to maintain a foothold in the consumer market. As an avid DJI Mavic Pro user, I am considering making the switch to Autel EVO 2 drone.

But for now, I think I am going to stick onto it. If the quality of DJI Mavic 3 doesn’t turn out to be good as we hope. Then it is likely that many remote pilots who are current DJI Mavic users will switch over to Autel Robotics EVO 2 drone. Besides, competition is a welcome change in the consumer market. And that’s what it is needed to break the quality stalemate.
