The Altair Aerial AA108 Drone is one of the oldest, but most popular quadcopter sold by Altair Aerial, a U.S based drone manufacturer. They are well known for their first drone called Hornet AA818 which is a quadcopter with an action camera mounted on it. However, for some beginners and first-time flyers, a drone with built-in guards is preferred. Not only they help protect the drone from impact, but they are also much durable and resilient compared to toy-grade drones such as the Bolt Bee and Furibee H818.

This mid-sized drone comes with a built-in premium 720P HD camera that delivers high-quality images and videos with in-depth details. Unlike most drones you normally will see, the camera that Altair Aerial AA108 uses is optimized for best quality. Furthermore, it is integrated with propeller guards that acts as a shock absorber. Along with these flight safety features, the Altair Aerial AA108 is chock full of beginner-friendly features. Let’s take a look at what this drone has in the store for beginners and first-time flyers:

Altair Aerial AA108 Drone Review

General Overview:

Before I talk more about the Altair Aerial AA108 review, I want to briefly explain what is inside the box. The package comes with a drone, transmitter, two batteries, a set of propeller blades, a screwdriver, a USB charger, SD card reader, propeller spanner and landing caps. The drone is built with durable ABS plastic that is far more stronger than standard-grade plastic found on toy-grade quadcopters such as the H210 Night Elf.

The Altair Aerial AA108 drone has a body dimension of 183 * 198 * 43 millimeters, which makes it approximately two times bigger than the palm of your hand. It is still a small drone, however, packed with several features. Furthermore, it only weighs a mere 85 grams that make it easy enough for beginners to bring the drone with them. Features-wise, the AA108 drone comes with important functions that are necessary for best flight performance.

Most notable is the speed mode. This drone has three-speed tiers. On the first flight, it will be at the lowest speed so that beginners and first-time flyers can learn how to pilot a drone. I recommend you to fly indoor first as the guards will protect the drone and yourself. Once you master the flight controls, you can increase the speed mode and fly outdoor. The AA108 drone has a maximum control distance of 300 meters which gives you plenty of flying room.

Conclusion of Altair Aerial AA108 Review

Based on the research and sifting through customer reviews. We concluded that the Altair Aerial AA108 is a high-quality drone. It doesn’t come with the latest upgrades and features that you normally will see now in the evolving drone market such as the Mirage Pro D50 and Outlaw B2W. But the Altair Aerial AA108 is still decent for beginners who want to have a sturdy drone that can withstand damage. At the same time, teaching them how to fly a drone and mastering aerial photography skills.

At the price tag that Altair Aerial AA108 is selling for, it makes a great training drone for beginners and recreational remote pilots. Thanks to built-in propeller guards, it is also kids friendly. It will make a great gift for birthday, Christmas or even if you want to surprise your family members/friends.
